A man from Pennsylvania, apparently upset by his divorce, shot his ex-wife, shot his parents and led police in an air and ground pursuit before being found dead in his minivan, authorities said Thursday.

"The manhunt is over, the suspect is dead," said Tom Hogan, a suburban prosecutor in Philadelphia, Chester County.

Hogan said Bruce Rogal, 59, was apparently angry, he was ordered to finalize the divorce and award his wife the couple 's home. Rogal drove home and fired six shots as she tried to shelter behind her car, Hogan said.

Mr. Rogal then went to a nearby retirement community where his parents live, killing them deadly, Hogan said. The manhunt was in progress.

"He led the police in pursuit, the state police were later joined by members of the SWAT team," said Hogan.

The officers spotted the Rogal minivan around 1 am and the pursuit was launched.

"The accused actually returned to the house where his ex-wife was, fortunately, she broke free," Hogan said. "He went back to the neighborhood and crashed his vehicle on the side of the house and when the police came in contact with him, he was already dead."

The police said that at one point there was an exchange of gunfire, but that did not immediately reveal the death of Rogal.

"This morning in Chester County, everything can go back to normal," said Hogan.
