WILMINGTON, N.-C. – A Harris Teeter in Wilmington was a popular place Saturday night after Florence swept the area.

It was the only store in town to be able to operate, so people lined up around the building to get what they could.

A Harris Teeter in Wilmington, North Carolina, is the only store in power.

"The only reason I'm here is for a steak and a potato," said one man.

"Snacks and drinks," said another man.

"I had a few things and one of my friends let me use his generator to cook something later, so I brought him some beer," said a woman at NBC Charlotte.

"Get food for my grandchildren," said a woman – with 11 grandchildren at home.

Even though they were wet and hungry, many people smiled while waiting to buy food.
