What's the tragedy over a few weeks? For Pete Davidson, it's a material for SNL promo.
In a teaser for this week's episode with host Jonah Hill, Davidson joked to musical guest Maggie Rogers.
"Hi Maggie, I'm Pete … Do you want to get married?" Asks a blue-haired singer. When Rogers rejects it, Davidson launches "0 for 3".
The joke refers to her engagement with singer Ariana Grande, whom the pair called earlier this month.
Grande used social media to respond shortly after the online release of the promo Thursday.
"For those who claim to hate relevance, you'll love staying there, huh," tweeted Grande.
She then added "thank you to you, then", then "." In response to a fan who reacted to the promo by writing: "SNL is about to take advantage of their breakup, exactly as they had done for the engagement".
Great finally decided that she was not in the mood for a quarrel and suppressed the tweets.
