IIt is often said that comedy is a tragedy with time. Yet, there does not seem to be a time frame that allows for fun with a wounded veteran. Enter Pete Davidson of "Saturday Night Live" and Texas Congress candidate for the Republican Party Dan Crenshaw.
"This guy is pretty cool – Dan Crenshaw," Davidson said on his show last weekend. "You may be surprised to learn that he is a congressional candidate for Texas and not a hit in a porn movie."
Davidson, unable to control his laugh, continued, "I'm sorry, I know that he lost his eye to the war – or whatever."
Crenshaw was not left out when he responded to Davidson's joke by writing on Twitter:
Good rule in life: I strive not to offend; I do my best not to be offended. That being said, I hope @nbcsnl recognizes that veterinarians do not deserve to see their wounds used to mark jokes.

After this tweet, Crenshaw said that he thought that the editorial team of "SNL" could have worked better. saying"I think they should have rethought this joke a bit, if you could even call it a joke."
Now, although Davidson's joke is tasteless and tasteless, he should not apologize for that.
Time and time again, media personalities and politicians must apologize for the inflammatory comments. In the 2016 presidential election, the then candidate, Donald Trump, had commented on Senator John McCain, R-Ariz. It could have been a joke, but it did not work out.
But it's different. It's comedy. And comedy is supposed to push the limits. It's supposed to find humor in otherwise serious things. There is a good comedy and a bad comedy. But the thing is this: comedy will always be subjective.
And even though a large majority of people can avoid a joke, there is a lesson to be learned from the episode of "South Park," where the characters discuss the Prophet Muhammad: "You can not distinguish between this who is OK fun to and who is not, either all is well, or none of that.
