Pete Prisco's NFL Week 2 picks: Jaguars put pliers on Brady, Patriots; The Steelers beat the leaders

[ad_1]

The good news after the first week of my picks is that I have a record of wins, both against the gap and in a straight line.

This is a good sign because I am usually a slow starter.

More on the NFL

I went straight 10-5-1 and I intend to be even better this week. So get on board for the ride. I fainted after a quick start early Sunday, but I still managed a nice week.

There are many key injuries at stake this week, with The quarterback of Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, is the biggest, so it's hard to pick some games. But because I have to do it before Wednesday night and I have to choose all the games, I began to speculate, including hoping to see Rodgers Sunday against the Vikings.

As the teams 1-0, I intend to enjoy my good start and gain momentum early in the season. Here are the choices of week 2:

Baltimore to Cincinnati

Thursday at 20:20 ET (NFLN)
Line:
Bengals -1

Both teams won last week, but this is a turnaround in a division game for the Ravens. It will matter. It will be a low scoring match, but I think the Bengals will win it.

To choose: Bengals 20, Ravens 14

Carolina in Atlanta

1 pm ET (Fox)
Line:
Falcons -6

The Panthers are hit in the attack and must now hit the road against a restful team with extra time. This is not a good combination. The Falcons have injury problems in defense without Kenau Neal safety and linebacker Deion Jones. But I think the Atlanta attack comes alive after a slow first game.

To choose: Falcons 27, Panthers 20

Indianapolis Washington

1 pm ET (CBS)
Line:
Redskins -6

Andrew Luck launched it 53 times last week. It could be more than that if the Colts have a chance here. I do not think that they do it, even if it does it. The Redskins impressed in defense last week and they will run a lot of Adrian Peterson here. Redskins big.

To choose: Redskins 28, Colts 17

Houston, Tennessee

1 pm ET (CBS)
Line:
Texans -2

The Titans are smitten, including quarterback Marcus Mariota. But he was on training ground Wednesday, so he seems like he'll be going there. Texans play consecutive games on the road and their offensive line is awful, which adds to problems. Titans will find a way out of a lousy game.

To choose: Titans 19, Texans 16

Philadelphia to Tampa Bay

1 pm ET (Fox)
Line:
Eagles -3

The Bucs were impressive in their first win on the road, especially in attack. But it's a much tougher defense to face for Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Eagles will start Nick Foles against a broken secondary from Bucs. Fitzpatrick will not play as he did last week, but he will keep his team close.

To choose: Eagles 24, Bucs 23

Kansas City to Pittsburgh

1 pm ET (CBS)
Line:
Steelers -4

These are consecutive road games for the Chiefs, which is always difficult. It's even harder against a wounded Steelers team that tied the Browns last week. Pittsburgh will get things done by beating the Chiefs six of the last seven meetings. They make seven out of eight.

To choose: Steelers 30, counts 21

Miami to New York Jets

1 pm ET (CBS)
Line:
Jets -3

One of these two goes 2-0 and I think it will be the Dolphins. They impressed in defense last week in the first game. Ryan Tannehill also did a good job on offense. Sam Darnold will have a hard blow in his second match. The dolphins reach 2-0.

To choose: Dolphins 21, Jets 20

Los Angeles Chargers in Buffalo

1 pm ET (CBS)
Line:
Chargers -7

It's a long trip for the Chargers, but the good news is that they have a Bills team that is not very good. It will also be Josh Allen's first start in the NFL for the quarterback Bills. It's a shame that he does not have much help. The loaders win a victory on the road.

To choose: Chargers 28, invoices 10

Minnesota to Green Bay

1 pm ET (Fox)
Line:
Packers -1

Will it be Aaron Rodgers at the quarterback for the Packers or not? If they have it, I think they're winning the game. Otherwise, good luck. The intuition is that he plays, so I go with the Packers.

To choose: Packers 24, Vikings 16

Cleveland in New Orleans

1 pm ET (Fox)
Line:
Saints -9

The Saints looked awful last week, which must be a concern. But I think there is more talent in this unit than showing. They will play better here because the Saints will win their first victory. The Cleveland defense did some good things last week against the Steelers, which is why I think they can stay within the limits of numbers.

To choose: Saints 28, Browns 23

Detroit in San Francisco

16:05 ET (Fox)
Line:
49ers -6

The Lions were awful in their first game and now have to face a team that will play their first game at home. Lions will not be that bad, but I think they have major defense issues. Jimmy Garoppolo has a great day.

To choose: 49ers 30, Lions 20

Arizona to Los Angeles Rams

16:05 ET (Fox)
Line:
Rams -12.5

The Rams impressed in their first game, while the Cardinals struggled. But I do not think the Cardinals are as bad as they looked. The Rams play on a short week, and it will happen. The Rams take it, but it's close.

To choose: Rams 26, Cardinals 20

New England to Jacksonville

4:25 pm ET (CBS)
Line:
Patriots -1

It's the best game of the week, a rematch of the AFC championship game. The Patriots won this game, but they will not win this one. The Jaguars are even better this year on the defensive, which will slow Tom Brady and the gang, while the Jaguars will make enough offensive games to win.

To choose: Jaguars 21, Patriots 17

Oakland to Denver

4:25 pm ET (CBS)
Line:
Broncos -6

The Raiders play a division rival on the road after a loss over a short week. Oh, and they looked awful in the first game. The Broncos have done good things against the Seahawks and I think that continues. Without much resistance from the Oakland defense, Case Keenum and his group will accumulate a lot of points.

To choose: Denver 31, Oakland 17

New York Giants in Dallas

20:20 ET (NBC)
Line:
Cowboys -3

These two players looked offensive last week in their games, so it's time to take it back. With the Cowboys at home, I will look at their attack that will come to life. Look for Ezekiel Elliott for a great day. The cowboys take it.

To choose: Cowboys 20, Giants 16

Seattle to Chicago

Monday at 8:15 pm ET (ESPN)
Line:
Bears -3.5

The Seahawks play consecutive road games, which is difficult. The loss of Doug Baldwin in recent weeks is even more difficult. Chicago's defense was last week against the Packers, and it will be there. Khalil Mack will have a day on the field against the Seattle line, but Russell Wilson will keep it all the same.

To choose: Bears 27, Seahawks 26
