There is a strange new orange creature that takes the ice in the city of brotherly love.
The Philadelphia Flyers' Gritty, wearing a Jersey and Flyers gloves, has a wild mane and eyes massaged.
The NHL website gave the creature an anecdote: she called Gritty "talented but fiery" and "loyal but mischievous". Center disturbed his secret hiding place forcing him to show his face publicly for the first time.

The Internet was full of thoughts about the mascot, ranging from fear to laughter.
Gritty had fun tweeting a picture of himself posing as Kim Kardashian West on the cover of Paper magazine. Jake Tapper answered"Never change, Gritty."

The players were as surprised by Gritty as the fans. According to Philly.com, Wayne Simmonds said in reaction to Gritty, "Not my mascot".
"Never seen this thing before in my life. I like the Phanatic a bit, "he added, naming the Philadelphia Phillies mascot. "But this orange -"
"What's his name, Gritty?" Oskar Lindblom said, "We'll see how tough he is."
