In a new excerpt from his next memoir, It will only hurt a little, obtained by Yahoo Entertainment, Busy Philipps claims Freaks and Greeks Co-star James Franco assaulted her while they were shooting a scene for the series. As Philipps remembers, the scene required that his character gently strike Franco in his chest during the dialogues. Franco was caught off guard by the fact that this directive was included in the script and subsequently broke the character to shout at Philipps. "He took both my arms and shouted in my face," NEVER TOUCH ME AGAIN! "And he threw me to the ground, flat on his back The wind knocked me out." After the attack, Philipps said that she had been crying in front of her co-star, Linda Cardellini, who had advised her to tell what had happened to her manager. But Franco did not apologize, as Franco had asked the next day, after being forced to do so by the producers and the director of the series. Philipps notes however that Franco has never been formally reprimanded for his actions and that he has continued to work inconsequently. Earlier this year, many women accused Franco of various cases of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior. He asserted that these allegations were "inaccurate", although he did not "actively refute" them so that their voices could be heard.
