"Pink Pumpkin 6K is a non-competitive event that educates people about cancer and celebrates those who fight, have lost or have survived cancer," said Diane Gaywont, Executive Director of the Breast Cancer Family Foundation.

Green Bay has been hosting this event for the past 11 years, but Gaywort explained that with the growth of its program in central Wisconsin, it was natural that this event be held here.

"Participants can except see a ton of rose, when they run or walk the beautiful trails of Lake Wazeecha, they will notice pink pumpkins along the course and, when they reach the 5 km mark, they will will be greeted by volunteers who give them a pink carnation to hold the last mile of their journey in tribute to their loved ones and / or friends with cancer, "said Gaywont.

Finally, on arrival, participants will enjoy pink biscuits with pumpkin.

An inscription will take place during the collection of the packets on Friday, October 19 from 17h to 19h. at Lake Wezeecha, as well as the morning of the race from 8am to 10am.

The money raised at the event will serve to raise awareness of cancer and prevention in Central Wisconsin schools.
