A frightened camel injured several people on a circus Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Six children and one adult were injured after a camel started bumping at the circus circus around 3:30 pm. at PPG Paints Arena. Five were sent to hospitals with minor injuries and one child suffered a broken arm. Tribune-Review reports. Two children and one adult rode the camel at the time, as part of circus outings on tied animals, including ponies and elephants, according to NBC reports10.

Witnesses report that a child threw a shovel at the camel's feet, which caused his behavior to be erratic, reports CBS Pittsburgh.

"They were doing camel rides and camels were walking quietly," Ruthie Kester told CBS. "And then a kid threw a shovel at the feet of the camel, which scared the camel and it started to do silly things."

In videos posted by members of the public, the circus announcer can be heard saying "please stay calm" because he also calls doctors or paramedics nearby.

It was the third and last day of the show.
