Ben Roethlisberger was far from perfect until the fourth quarter, and that's all that mattered to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A week after Roethlisberger earned a perfect quarterback score, he had won three interceptions and a 16-0 deficit by leading two late orders. He conceded the score 1 and left 5 seconds for a 20-16 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
The Steelers (7-2-1) have won their sixth game in a row and have probably ended the Jaguars' play-off hopes, which eliminated Pittsburgh in the divisional round of last year.
The Jaguars (3-7) lost their sixth in a row in a match that they controlled until the last five minutes.
Leonard Fournette ran 95 yards and caught two passes for 46 yards. This led to the Jaguars' only touchdown when he started from 4 and scored for a 16-0 lead with 2:09 left in the third quarter.
Roethlisberger, who now has 10 turnovers in his last three games against Jacksonville, has taken over.
He asked Tashaun Gipson Sr., safety officer, to bite on a dummy pump and found Antonio Brown open in the middle for a 78-yard touchdown.
Still trailing by 10 points within six minutes of the end, Roethlisberger found Vance McDonald in the back of the end zone to narrow the gap to 16-13 with 2:28 to go.
Pittsburgh started and the Jaguars made three assists, then Roethlisberger ran a 68-yard run. He hit JuJu Smith-Schuster on the left side for a 35-yard gain on 27 which at least had the Steelers in the lead position.
James Conner, strangled in the running, dropped a touchdown when he found himself behind linebacker Telvin Smith Sr., turning his head towards the goal line as the ball bounced off his hands. . It does not matter. Roethlisberger hit Brown on the center of the field, and after two penalties, Roethlisberger rolled to his right and crossed the straight on a 1-meter score that was kept in check.
Roethlisberger was 27 of 47 for 314 yards, including 170 in the fourth quarter.
The Jaguars held the ball almost twice as long, with 13 games in 15 games early in the game. But all they did in the first half was Josh Lambo's three goals. It was the first time in 33 games that the Steelers had been laundered in the first half.
Blake Bortles was largely ineffective, scoring just 104 yards and six backs. His biggest gains came from Fournette out of the backfield and the Steelers coldly stopped Jacksonville in the fourth quarter to have enough chances to win.

In addition, offensive midfielder The Veon Bell did not show up Tuesday as scheduled, and he is no longer eligible to play for the 2018 season. The Steelers will no longer have to talk about him and can focus more on the season. James Conner's low season also helped them forget about Bell.
The Jaguars (3-6) started the season 3-1 and looked a lot like the AFC contenders. Since then, five consecutive losses have left the Jaguars undefeated in the playoff race.
