Here's how the players ranked in the Manchester Derby today.

MANCHESTER CITY

Ederson: An unparalleled goalkeeper, who lacked concentration, misinterpreted Romelu Lukaku's run and gave a penalty that allowed United to go back. 5/10

KYLE WALKER: Anthony Martial Garda quiet on the left flank. Did not do as many attacks as usual. 6

JOHN STONES: Strong, cool and composed at the heart of the defense alongside Aymeric Laporte. 7

AYERMIQUE LAPORTE: So superb in defense for City this season, he has regained his strength and firmness. 7

BENJAMIN MENDY: Like Walker, the proposal is not as offensive as usual but does its job diligently. 6

Fernandinho: Pulled the strings in the midfield and worked tirelessly for the greater good. Disruptive without the ball and dangerous with it. 8

BERNARDO SILVA: Produces a nice center for the purpose of opening. Worked hard and showed quality flashes. 8

DAVID SILVA: Has shown some of the brilliant movements and vision, as well as advanced in front of the lens, which is becoming more and more prevalent. 8

RIYAD MAHREZ: Anonymous in a first period during which his best moment forced Luke Shaw to make a reservation. I did not do much better after the break. 5

RAHEEM STERLING: The impetuous attacker panicked the visitors with his explosiveness but was not able to bring a new goal to his new deal. 7

SERGIO AGUERO: Pursued his love affair with the Manchester Derby by scoring his eighth goal in the meet – a record with Wayne Rooney – shortly after the break. 7

SUBS

LEROY SANE (for Mahrez, 62 years old): He should have done better with his shot, but turned out to be a thorn in the side with his run. 7

ILKAY GUNDOGAN (for Aguero, 75 years old): I went home with joy to calm the nerves 7

PHIL FODEN (for David Silva, 90): No time to make an impact. 6

MANCHESTER UNITED

DAVID DE GEA: It can be argued that the best goalkeeper in the world did not enjoy his best afternoon. Among the problems, there was the second goal, while he could have done better after being partly responsible for the loss of the ball. 5

ASHLEY YOUNG: One of Jose Mourinho's most trusted lieutenants, the captain did a solid job, although it seems to have been spotted very early. 6

VICTOR LINDELOF: I spoke in advance of the difficult question that City would pose, but did a solid job under the circumstances. 7

CHRIS SMALLING: He was not deceived at Etihad Stadium, where his goal ensured the 3-2 victory in April. But there was no such joy far here. 6

LUKE SHAW: Limited in an offensive sense, he led Mahrez in the first period, but will be frustrated by the first goal. Picked up a reservation which means that he will miss the next United match. 6

NEMANJA MATIC: Not in the best of shape right now and seemed to settle after the first struggles, only to allow Gundogan to enter for the third. 5

ANDER HERRERA: Adds more bite in the midfield, but was surprised by the sharpness of City. 5

MAROUANE FELLAINI: Made his presence felt at Juventus and proved a handle in both boxes. Disciplined. 6

JESSE LINGARD: Bad show of the offensive midfielder English, whose inability to control a wheezing led to the second place of Aguero. 4

ANTHONY MARTIAL: Guilty of complicated play when he was well placed in the first half, the rejuvenated striker showed an impressive calm to reduce the deficit of the spot. 6

MARCUS RASHFORD: Tracks made that were not chosen with passes. Worked hard in attack. 6

SUBS:

ROMELU LUKAKU (for Lingard, 57): We had an immediate impact on the bench by winning the penalty converted by Martial. There was little else to note, however. 6

JUAN MATA (for Herrera, 73): Shot at the United level midweek, but the intelligent midfielder could not have the same impact here. 6

ALEXIS SANCHEZ (for Rashford, 73): This is not the most popular figure at the Etihad Stadium after rejecting their advances and doing little to make the local team feel missed. 5
