Safety Eddie Jackson could become the top pick in the Bears general manager draft, Ryan Pace. Taken in the fourth round of the NFL 2017 draft, Jackson's six-on-one draw against Matthew Stafford and the Lions on Thursday was his fifth touchdown over the defense since last year. no NFL player has more than two scores in the same period. Jackson is quickly becoming one of the best free protections in the league. He helped the Bears in a five-game winning streak and three-game lead in the NFC North before Sunday's game against the New York Giants. – Jeff Dickerson
The Lions have equalized their loss – seven times – in the last two seasons and there are still five games left. Oh, and the Los Angeles Rams come to town next week. This season has not gone away as the Lions have envisioned it and it's a myriad of mistakes made by different units throughout the year. One week, defense is the problem. The next, the offense is poor. Special teams (although recently improved) have been random. All this leads to one thing – the inconsistency and probably miss the playoffs for another year. – Michael Rothstein
The Redskins remain in contention for the playoffs, although that does not seem to be the case. After losing to Dallas, they are 6-5 and tied with the Cowboys for first place in the NFC East. But having lost three of their last four games, the Redskins are moving in the wrong direction. Running – both sides of the ball – has been one of the main reasons for recent fighting. Defensively, they miss too many attacks in high school. When the teams can transmit them, the red skins are cooked. Washington has enough so-called winning games in the final stretch, starting with the Eagles next week, to stay in the playoff conversation. But they must play better and hope that the attacking midfielder Adrian Peterson finishes strong. – John Keim
The Cowboys have won three straight victories after their defeat at ESPN's "Monday Night Football" and find themselves in first place in the NFC East with their victory against Thanksgiving Day against Washington. "Everyone jumped off the train, of course, at 3-5," said Dak Prescott.
