TORONTO – Canadian police claim that one person was arrested and charged in connection with an accident of in April involving a junior hockey team. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police did not immediately announce the person's name on Friday.
The accident occurred when a bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos hockey team collided with a semitrailer in Saskatchewan on April 6th. ] and 13 others were injured
The Broncos were en route to a decisive game against the Nipawin Hawks at the time of the accident. Police said the unhurt truck driver was first arrested, then released and provided mental health assistance.
Ryan Straschnitzki, 18, survived the accident but was paralyzed from the chest. In April, her parents, Tom and Michelle, said her thoughts were always with her friends.
"His main thought while lying on the road was watching everyone and he could not move, he could not move," Michelle told CBS News
