BOSTON (WHDH) – A New Hampshire man accused of kidnapping a 13-year-old girl after giving money to his parents near Faneuil Hall Sunday afternoon was charged with several kidnappings.
Officers responding to a reported abduction attempt at approximately 4:41 pm in the Northern Streets and Congress area, learned that a man, later identified as Alfred Patterson, 20, of Raymond She approached the girl and offered her a "package" to "buy it" trying to hang her out, according to Boston police.
When the victim's mother refused Patterson access to his daughter's Instagram account, he reportedly said, "I'm rich, though.
According to the police, the girl's father became angry and threatened to beat Patterson. He was later arrested in the 260 Washington Street neighborhood and arrested without incident.
Patterson was positively identified by the victim and his parents, the police said.
In court, Patterson's lawyer said he lived with his parents and had "cognitive problems." He also suggested that Patterson may not be aware that the victim was a minor.
Patterson is accused of seduction of a child under 16, of an attempt to kidnap a child and a false police identification.
