Two people were injured after a shooting Sunday night in Walmart on November 30 in Hobart, police said.
The officers responded at 7:37 pm at the store where "one gunman" fired shots in the parking lot and the victims ran into the store, said Major Don Foley, of the North-East Major Crime Task Force. west of Indiana.
Two people were injured and taken to a hospital, Foley said.
"There is no death right now," Foley said Sunday night.
Police have identified a person of interest from surveillance videos, Foley said.
"It seems like it's an isolated incident," said Foley.
Hobart police asked the North West Major Crime Task Force to participate in the investigation, Foley said.

The police blocked a large portion of the Walmart parking lot between the two entrances on either side of the store. The heaviest presence of the police was near the entrance to the western grocery store.
Police officers from Hobart, Merrillville, Lake County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Police and St. John were on scene.
People waited along the police tape, waiting for people they knew inside to be released by the police. Others were waiting to pick up their vehicles that were inside the police band.
Diana Johnson of Lake Station and Shannon D'Apice of Sauk Village, Ill., Had dinner at a Taco Bell across the United States before leaving for Walmart, they said.
The women were near the main entrance near the baked goods when they heard a loud noise, they said. Employees told people "to go out and go out," said Johnson.
"I took off running backwards," said Johnson.
Johnson and D'Apice broke up and D'Apice hid in a sock lane, she said.
"I just touched the ground. I just tried to put myself a little under the wallet, "D'Apice said.
Johnson has taken refuge in a break room with employees and is "safe" from everything we can find, "she said.
Heidi Badgley, who lives in the area, said she was in the cat food department with her 13-year-old daughter at the time of filming.
"I heard something, but it did not register at all," Badgley said.
Badgley said, "People just started running. I mean run, run crazy.
Badgley looked at his daughter and told her to run, she said. The two came out of the back of the store and waited in a field with other people to find out where they should go, she said.
"I was pretty shaken," said Badgley.
Badgley's four-door red vehicle was parked in a row near the west entrance to the store. Badgley said the police had let her get to her vehicle and that she had seen a bullet in her rear bumper and carcasses on the ground.
Brad Jones, of Merrillville, said he was in the freezer section at the time of the shooting.
"First of all, I thought it was a firework display," he said.
Jones ran with the others to the back of the store and started calling people.
"It just started going crazy," he said.
Patrick Scott, a product section employee, said that he was working when he heard the noise and directed people through the door.
Scott said the employees had just watched a shooter training video the day before and that he had the impression that what he had learned had started.
Hanif Hasan waited in the parking lot for his wife, Khadija Hasan, and their twin daughters, who were still in the shop. The family celebrated Sunday the 19th birthday of girls, he said.
"I was preparing their birthday dinner," Hanif Hasan said. The mother and the girls went to the store to get an onion for the meal.
Khadija Hasan said that they were entering the store when they heard the shots and ran inside to get to the shelter.
A white van drove the mother and the girls to the place where Hanif Hasan was waiting Sunday night. They all bogged down before leaving to go home.
Adam, who wanted to give his last name, said his wife was the manager of the Burger King at Walmart and was working at the time of the shooting.
"She's completely helpless right now," Adam said as he stood outside the crime scene strip in the parking lot.
From where Adam stood in the parking lot, he could see a broken glass near the Burger King inside.
"I just hope that I can calm her," he said.
Tracey Kirk, of Lakes of the Four Seasons, arrived at the parking lot after her 19-year-old son, Garrett Fuentes, called her around 19:45. about what happened. Fuentes was in the store with his girlfriend during the shooting, but the two had succeeded, Kirk said.
