NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police are investigating a suspicious device sent to Robert De Niro in Tribeca, sources told CBS2 political reporter Marcia Kramer.
Tribeca Productions security staff called 911 around 4:30 am Thursday.
Police said the package was delivered earlier this week, Tuesday or Wednesday, according to Kramer.
The package was removed by the NYPD demining team and transported to the Bronx for inspection.
This comes after several other devices have been sent to Democratic figures across the country, including the CNN head office in Manhattan and the residences of Hillary Clinton and George Soros in Westchester County.
The package De Niro received corresponded to photos sent by the New York police on Wednesday as part of the ongoing investigation, reports Kramer.
