Police are looking for the owner of two dogs who injured a man in Arlington on Wednesday.
The man was not identified by the police, but according to CBS DFW, his family identified him as Milton Sturges, 58 years old. Sturges was attacked by both dogs during the distribution of leaflets and remained Saturday in the hospital with serious injuries.
On Wednesday, police were called to the 2300 block of Cripple Creek Drive when someone reported that a man had been attacked by the dogs, according to police sergeant Arlington. Karen Standback.
An officer fired at the two dogs, which were at the top of Sturges, according to the press release.
Sturges was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Omar Sturges, the nephew of Milton Sturges, reported that Milton Sturges had lost both his ears and that his nose and lower lip had been partially torn from the attack.
Omar said Milton would need several reconstructive surgeries and had no medical insurance. He created a GoFundMe donations page for Milton to cover medical expenses.
Saturday afternoon, the GoFundMe had raised more than $ 2,000.
The dogs were taken to an emergency facility by an animal control where they died.
The police think the dogs were pit bulls but were still investigating. On Saturday, the police still did not know who the owners of the dogs were.
One of the dogs was an adult man who, according to police, seemed to have chain marks around his neck, as if he had been chained.
The other dog was a female and seemed to have already had a litter of puppies. The dogs were walking together and had no flea, necklace or tag.
