The Massachusetts state police are looking for a gunman who allegedly shot and killed his wife in Marshfield, Massachusetts on Monday night.
Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz told reporters at a press conference that the woman had called 911 around 5:53 pm. report that her "future ex-husband" was chasing her in a car. The DA identified the man as Allen Warner, 47 years old.
Marshfield police reacted to the incident on Main Street and found the woman, who is believed to be in her thirties or forties, injured her face, reported WCVB. Cruz said the woman had been declared dead at South Shore Hospital.
Authorities did not recover any weapons at the scene.
The road was closed for several hours, with agents from several departments joining Warner's manhunt. The agents were seen with their weapons fired through the woods and the surroundings.
State police and a SWAT team joined the search, as well as three helicopters, The Boston Globe reported. Officers were also escorted from a sports event at Marshfield High School around 8:30 pm

In a tweet, the Marshfield police asked residents to avoid the area, to stay inside and lock their doors. The authorities then thanked the residents for their patience and cooperation. "We thought the suspect is no longer in the area," said Marshfield police.
"This remains a survey of active and ongoing homicides," said Cruz, according to WCVB. "The state police are asking the public for help in searching for Mr. Warner.
Warner was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla gray with the Massachusetts 4FSZ80 license plate. His license listed Warner as a resident of Rockland, Massachusetts, The Boston Globe reported. Cruz said the officials did not think Warner was still in the Marshfield area.
"It is believed to be armed and dangerous," added Cruz. "If anyone contacts him, please call 911 immediately."
