Police: Women found duct tape on pipes along the Hudson River

Upper West Side, Manhattan (WABC) –

Police identified the two women whose bodies were found stranded along the Hudson River as Sisters of Virginia.

Police said the bodies of 16-year-old Tala Farea and 22-year-old Rotana Farea of ​​Fairfax were found around 2:30 pm Wednesday near 68th Street and Riverside Park. The officers who responded found the bodies lying on rocks near the river.

The poster of a missing child said that the women were last seen on August 24, but no photos were included.

A police source told Eyewitness News that the bodies were taped together with tape around their waist and feet facing each other.

Both were fully dressed and there was no sign of trauma.

Sources believe that the bodies were washed away by the tide and remained when the tide went out.

The coroner's office will determine the cause of death and the investigation is underway.
