Americans are divided, largely by party, on whether election fraud or electoral repression is the main problem within two weeks of the mid-term elections, according to a new survey by the US barometer.
The survey, conducted by Hill.TV and HarrisX polling firm, revealed that 51% of respondents said voter suppression was a bigger issue, while 49% said the same thing about fraud election.
Seventy-two percent of Republicans say that voting illegally is a bigger problem, while 71 percent of Democrats say the same thing about voter suppression.
Independent voters were also divided on the issue: 49% of voters declared repression and 51%, electoral fraud.
"What I see here is what I see in almost all the polls we are looking at right now, namely the huge partisan divide on this," said Mallory Newall, director of research at Ipsos Public Affairs, to Jamal Simmons, of Hill.TV, on "What America Thinks". "

Trump warned in a tweet last week that anyone found guilty of electoral fraud in the midterm elections would be liable to "maximum penalties".
The issue of voter suppression took center stage in Georgia's governorship race earlier this month after a report revealed that state officials had written off about 107,000 people from voter lists. because they had decided not to vote in previous elections.
Georgia's Secretary of State, Republican Brian Kemp, is running against Democrat Stacy Abrams, who would be the first black woman in history to hold the position of US governor if elected.
Abrams said the Kemp office had been working to remove the votes of African Americans in the state, while Kemp had said he was acting to prevent electoral fraud.
The poll of the American barometer was conducted on October 19 and 20 on 1,000 registered voters. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
