Patrick Kimmons, who was fatally shot by police officers last Sunday.

The group, which included members of Kimmons' family, gathered near a Southwest 4th Avenue and Harvey Milk Street, at the parking lot where the shooting occurred.

They talk to the downtown Justice Center, where speakers, including relatives of Kimmons, demanded police accountability in the shooting.

"We're not here to riot." We're here for justice, "said Charles Kimmons, a family member. "We need to fight this all the way to the end.

The group then marched back to the parking lot where the protests began, where they blocked Southwest Fourth Avenue but directed traffic around the demonstration.

Protesters mixed with traffic, mostly without incident, but reporters for Oregon Public Broadcasting and KATU-TV said a driver to protest at the Justice Center and drove away. The protest was not seriously injured.

Police presence was minimal. Officers were seen monitoring the protest from a block away.

Kimmons was shot shortly after Sept. 3, Sept. 30, when the Portland Police Bureau said Sgt. Garry Britt and Officer Jeffrey Livingston heard from their vehicles, parked near.

At the other end of the lot at Southwest Third Avenue, there is a fight and a shooting, leaving two men wounded. Police then saw Kimmons turn towards them or their way to a gun, sources told The Oregonian / OregonLive.

The officers yelled commands and fired at Kimmons with their handguns, in the upper torso and leg. Between the Sergeant and Officer, 10 to 12 shots were fired.

Police are awaiting forensic analyzes from the crime scene on a revolver found near Kimmons and other guns recovered at the scene, but suspect Kimmons shot the two other men at the scene, the sources said.

Police officials have said publicly about the circumstances of the shooting, despite pleas from Kimmons' family and other supporters.
