It is obvious that Marvel's character-based movies will have a post-generic scene, and in general, this one teases a sequel or the next film from the Marvel film universe. Well, the same is true for Venom, which has two post-credit scenes: one that refers to the plot of a potential sequel and one that teases a completely different movie.
While Venom is a movie based on the Marvel comics, it is not part of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) because it was produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel Entertainment and distributed by Sony rather than being produced by Marvel Pictures and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, as the films of the MCU. There is some crossover between Sony and Marvel / Disney regarding the use of Spider-Man, but even though Venom hails from Amazing Spider-Man BD, the new movie exists outside the MCU.
This is an important distinction with regard to post-credit scenes, as they do not tease the next MCU movie, as it certainly would have been if it had been part of the MCU, and not just a separate Marvel character movie.
Major Venom spoilers to come.
So, the first credit scene. It comes in the middle of the credits and shows what Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote have to do after the end of the film. One of the last scenes of the film shows Eddie telling his ex-fiancée Anne that he had just won a new interview. The average credit scene shows the beginning of this interview. Eddie / Venom heads to San Quentin Prison, and Eddie tells Venom that "it's a thing for me" as opposed to something that involves both of them. Upon entering a maximum security cell, we see a man write "Welcome Eddie" in his blood on the wall. Soon, it's clear to comic fans that it's all about his red hair: serial killer Cletus Kasady, played by Woody Harrelson. If there is a second Venom movie, it will surely show that Kasady becomes the naughty carnage after merging with his own symbiote. (In addition, it will become a "we thing" for Eddie / Venom.)
As for the second generic, this one is a preview for Spider-Man: in the Spider-Verse, a next animated film. Similar to Venom, In the spider worm will be in association with Marvel and distributed by Sony. The film deals with various existing Spider people (and Spider-Ham!) And focuses on the introduction of Morales Miles to Spider-Verse. There had been rumors about the idea of Tom Hardy making Venom heard in the film, but that was not confirmed.
Of course, with Venom to be published on October 5, the In the spider worm The movie preview is not yet available online, but other trailers (like the one above) were released before it debuted on December 14th.
It is certain that In the spider worm will soon be released in theaters, but as to whether Venom will be back for a sequel that will include Carnage, the jury has still not been unveiled and, for now, things are not very beautiful.
