These rankings consist primarily of evaluating the teams against their colleagues in the conference, but we also rank the conferences against each other.

Check out the chart below and click on a conference to get all the details about why we ranked the teams.

1. SEC | 2. Big Ten | 3. Big 12 | 4. Pac-12 | 5. ACC

1 SECOND

The week that brought the memorable Nick Saban "Tin Horn" quote went and went with at least a little more enthusiasm than expected. And that 's done, of course, at the expense of Alabama. The citadel gave Crimson Tide a headache for half a second, which raised the eyebrows when the halftime score was 10-10.

The Crimson Tide ended up doing business, but that will give Saban a reason to attack her Iron Bowl team. Everything else went as planned. In the last week of the SEC.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide (11-0)
The Citadelle was certainly more than just an obstacle on the road to the Iron Bowl. It was a heart attack at halftime. But at least Nick Saban can at least scream at his team this week and really say it.

2. Georgia Bulldogs (10-1)
It's tempting to look to the future for the SEC Championship game, but next Saturday's game against Georgia Tech and its delicate three-way offensive can not be overlooked.

3. Tigers of LSU (9-2)
Already at nine wins and with a New Year's bowl on the horizon, the Tigers will end the regular season next weekend with an interesting match against Texas A & M and the coach who once dismissed LSU, Jimbo Fisher.

4. Mississippi Bulldogs (7-4)
Nothing will appease the disappointment of some Bulldogs fans, but beating Ole Miss on the road next week could help. And a regular season of eight wins is not a thing to make fun of.

5. Kentucky Wildcats (8-3)
The hype around the Wildcats has slowed in recent weeks, but by taking care of business against Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Kentucky has been able to put itself in a good position for a quality match and, perhaps, a season of 10 wins.

6. Texas A & M Aggies (7-4)
Kellen Mond played a game with no business numbers and the Aggies went beyond the limits of the UAB. Now, can the A & M offense organize a similar effort against an LSU elite defense?

7. Auburn Tigers (7-4)
It was not really in a game that mattered, but Jarrett Stidham and the offense were able to gain confidence before a huge game against Alabama next week and it is worth it.

8. Missouri Tigers (7-4)
The Tigers became a November team under the leadership of Barry Odom, winning 9 of 11 matches in the final month of the regular season under his guidance, including a Tennessee rout Saturday. A win in the 13th week would give them eight wins for the first time since 2014.

9. Florida Gators (8-3)
The season was not all that Gator fans were hoping for, but after beating Idaho to improve to 8-3, a 10-game season is in sight with a struggling Florida State to end the season regular and bowling match.

10. Gamecocks of South Carolina (6-4)
This team did not meet expectations, but she managed to get eligibility for the bowl and could give fans something else to feel good next weekend if she can hit the road and threaten to derailing Clemson No. 2's run to the playoffs.

11 volunteers from Tennessee (5-6)
Mizzou beat the Flights just one week after their big win over Kentucky, but they still have a chance to play a petanque game if they can beat Vanderbilt in the regular season final.

12. Vanderbilt Commodores (5-6)
The Commodores kept their hopes alive with a 36-29 overtime win over Ole Miss. If they do, it will be twice in three seasons.

13. Ole Miss Rebels (5-6)
The Rebels let slip a 13-0 lead over Vanderbilt. Now, they will turn to their season finale: their Mississippi State rival in the Egg Bowl.

14. Arkansas Razorbacks (2-9)
Fans have been looking forward to next season for a while and a performance like Saturday against the Mississippi State is a good reason.

2. Big Ten

Wild Saturday afternoon, the Big Ten found itself in the 12th week, while Michigan and Ohio State disputed Saturday in Columbus for the right to meet the Northwest in Indianapolis. Who saw the Wolverines fighting Indiana, though, and the Buckeyes needing extra time to defeat Maryland? Meanwhile, four teams still need a win to join the seven teams eligible for the cup, the arrival of the last week of the regular season. As you will see below, a program is guaranteed to win this sixth victory.

1. Michigan Wolverines (10-1)
The 23rd consecutive win against Indiana was expensive while star defenseman Chase Winovich left with an upper-body injury. The Wolverines came from behind and used Jake Moody's six goals to win their 10th consecutive victory.

2. Buckeyes of Ohio State (10-1)
Quarterback Dwayne Haskins had six touchdowns and set the OSU season record with 36 touchdowns. But the Buckeyes had a hard time defending themselves in a 52-51 overtime win, during which they came back twice 14 points lower.

3. Northwest Wildcats (7-4)
The Wildcats' eighth consecutive road allowed the West Division champions to advance to 7-1 in conference, making it the best Big Ten record of this school since 1996, when Pat Fitzgerald was named defensive player of the league.

4. Penn State Nittany Lions (8-3)
For the first time since 2005-2009, the Nittany Lions have won eight games for the third year in a row. Trace McSorley can beat PSU's career record with his 31st win as a starting quarterback in the season finale against Maryland.

5. Wisconsin Badgers (7-4)
Jonathan Taylor ran for 321, the third highest total in school history, and scored the touchdown of the decision during the third overtime win of the 47-44 Badgers at Purdue.

6. Hawkees from Iowa (7-4)
A 63-0 defeat to Illinois marked the biggest win in 20 years with coach Kirk Ferentz, who joined legends Hayes, Schembechler, Stagg and Paterno with his 150th win at the Big Ten.

7. Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-7)
New recruit Barret Pickering scored three goals in the fourth quarter, allowing the Huskers to beat Michigan State 9-6, their fourth in five games, and their fourth in a row at home. A final blow this year when a first win on the road comes Friday in Iowa.

8. Spartans of Michigan State (6-5)
The Spartans allowed many passes in the snow and cold in Lincoln, including one in the end zone in the fourth decisive quarter, while the rookie of Redshirt, Rocky Lombardi, again took the start for QB.

9. Purdue Boilermakers (5-6)
A freshman, Rondale Moore has been spectacular against Wisconsin, but the Boilermakers have lost three of four seats since the eighth week of the Ohio State's clash and have to win in Indiana to play next week.

10. Indiana Hoosiers (5-6)
A half-time lead at the Big House and a 385-yard production, the best performance allowed by Michigan this year, does not hide the fact that the Hoosiers have won once since week 6 by hosting Purdue on Saturday.

11. Maryland Terrapins (5-6)
First-year man Anthony McFarland racked up 298 yards, Ohio State's second fastest time ever, but Tyrell Pigrome's two-point conversion to OT was disappointing as Terps missed a golden opportunity to qualify for the bowl.

12. Golden Gophers of Minnesota (5-6)
The Golden Gophers are visiting Wisconsin, threatened to miss the playoffs several years in a row, for the first time since 2010 and 2011, after Northwestern turned a pair of QB turnovers by Tanner Morgan into 10 points in a win. 24-14 Wildcats in Minneapolis.

13. Fight against Illinois in Illinois (4-7)
What was it? For starters, it was the worst defeat in 73 games of all time against Iowa for the Fighting Illini.

14. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (1-10)
Coach Chris Ash's team is expected to beat Michigan State next week in East Lansing to avoid a second season of Big Ten without a win in three years.

3. Big 12

Things were terribly interesting in the 12th week of the Big 12.

The Sooners have all they can handle from Kansas – yes, the latter – West Virginia has seen its eliminated playoff hopes crumble and Texas is still in the hunt for the title hunt.

Much remains to be done, including the participants in the championship game, as the last week of the regular season approaches.

1. Oklahoma Sooners (10-1)
The Sooners won, but gave 40 to Kansas? Frame. The scorecard will light up in Morgantown next week and if Oklahoma wins, they are in the Big 12 title game – and keep their hopes in the playoffs.

2. Texas Longhorns (8-3)
Texas will participate in the regular season finale as the Big 12 championship hopes are still alive for the first time since 2013 after beating the Iowa State. This is a notable step for the program under Tom Herman.

3. West Virginia Mountaineers (8-2)
The hopes of the Mountaineers playoffs are defeated after a defeat at Oklahoma State, but their hopes for the Big 12 title are still alive. They must beat Oklahoma next week to enter.

4 Iowa State Cyclones (6-4)
The title of the game Big 12 Cyclones has fizzled in Austin. Brock Purdy was pressured early and often, and the offense was clearly missed by David Montgomery in the first half. Still, the season has been good for Matt Campbell's group.

5. State Cowboys of Oklahoma (6-5)
What a win for the Cowboys. Mike Gundy's team has three home wins against the top 10 AP teams this season, the latest being a major victory over West Virginia. This is the first time since 1976 that the Pokes beat two of the top 10 teams in Stillwater.

6. Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-6)
Kliff Kingsbury back on the hot seat? Apparently safe a few weeks ago in Lubbock, things are uncertain after the Red Raiders grabbed Kansas State's chin. Next week against Baylor is a must-win for Kingsbury.

7. Horned Frogs TCU (5-6)
The Horned Frogs holding Baylor at nine points in a win mark the third time that Gary Patterson's crew has won a conference game by holding a Big 12 opponent at less than 20 points. Unfortunately for TCU, these are just his three league victories.

8. Baylor Bear (5-6)
The Bears fell to TCU, leaving the final of the regular season against Texas Tech as a must win in terms of eligibility for the Cup. If the Bears can succeed, it will be a giant step for Matt Rhule's program.

9. Wildcats of the State of Kansas (5-6)
Wildcats hopes are still alive after surprising the Red Raiders with a double-digit victory. Will it be the last game of the Bill Snyder era?

10. Kansas Jayhawks (3-8)
The Jayhawks were panicked in Oklahoma, scoring 40 points. Now they welcome the Longhorns for the first time since their victory in 2016. The final match of the David Beaty era will be well opposed to the team for which he has won his biggest win.

4. Pac-12

Utah will be waiting for the winner of the Apple Cup at Levi's Stadium on December 1st. In either case, the Utes will play a team – Washington or the state of Washington – against which they lost earlier in the season.

1. Cougar of the State of Washington (10-1)
The Cougars have been one of the most dominant football players in the country this season as they took a 55-14 lead at half-time against Arizona on Saturday night. At the end of the match, quarterback Gardner Minshew set the school record with seven touchdown passes and scored 43 passes on 55 passes for a total of 473 yards without interception. If anyone was on the fence to include it in his Heisman ballot, the big night of Minshew should have changed that.

2. Washington Huskies (8-3)
Quarterback Jake Browning is now the most successful quarterback in the Pac-12 and could still add a second conference title to his legacy. If he does, it will be because Chris Petersen will again find a way to beat Wazzu. The Huskies have not lost to the Cougars since the arrival of Petersen in 2014.

3. Utah Utes (8-3)
The first title Pac-12 South Utes seems late. They have probably been the most consistent team in the division since its inception in 2011, but are the last team to win it. After losing their starting quarter and going back two weeks ago, it seemed like an unlikely result, making it all the more impressive.

4. Stanford Cardinal (6-4)
Limited by injury and affected by an underperforming offensive line, running back Bryce Love has not had an impact this season has been an anticlimatic end to his career. Still, Stanford wins against Cal and UCLA after finishing the regular season 8-4 with a proper bowl appearance. This does not reach what was probably expected internally, but it is the type of season that many other conference programs would love to have.

5. Oregon Ducks (7-4)
It's easy to find places where the Ducks have left meat, but it's now clear that the excitement of the early season has raised expectations earlier than expected. Many handwritten thank you cards appear to arrive shortly at team facilities from addresses located in Utah.

6. Golden Bears of California (6-4)
Cal made the responsible decision to postpone the Big Game for two weeks due to poor air quality in the Bay Area. Without playing, the Bears defense saw its reputation improve after Wazzu left 69 on Arizona. In Pullman just two weeks ago, Cal had limited the Pumas to 19 points.

7. Arizona State Sun Devils (6-5)
After seeing their division title hopes disappear, the Sun Devils can now prevent Arizona from winning a victory in the Territorial Cup.

8. USC Trojans (5-6)
Trojans are ranked in front of four teams here, but no program is more like a sinking ship. Clay Helton may have been the equity needed to survive a 6-6 season, but a loss to a UCLA team with just two wins significantly changes the equation.

9. Arizona Wildcats (5-6)
They started the day Saturday by participating in the conference title race and finished with a surprise home win against rival ASU to be eligible for the World Cup. Khalil Tate, a candidate for a post in the Heisman, had another outstanding performance at the end of a year marked by injuries.

10. Bruins of UCLA (3-8)
A win over Stanford would draw the Bruins, even with USC in the final standings, and give fans a positive final impression before the offseason.

11. Colorado Buffalos (5-6)
The program is in a much better condition than when Mike MacIntyre picked it up, but a sixth consecutive loss after a 5-0 start meant the end for a coach who has just received the National Coach of the Year award. In two years. It's a tough business.

12. Oregon Beavers (2-9)
There is not a lot of coaching that can help. The Beavers did not have the talent to compete at a much higher level than this season.

5. ACC

This is what the CAC looks like after the 12th week.

1. Clemson Tigers (11-0)
Despite a slow start against Duke, it was another easy win on Saturday. The Tigers are now at a victory of a perfect regular season.

2. Orange Syracuse (8-3)
Eric Dungey's injury essentially sealed Syracuse's fate early against Notre Dame. The goal late in the game was the only strong point.

3. State NC Wolfpack (7-3)
The Wolfpack were the last to embarrass Louisville and a win in a rivalry match against North Carolina next week should ensure NC State a solid bid.

4. Boston College Eagles (7-4)
The Eagles controlled the second half against Florida State until Francois Deondre's bomb turned the tide. It was a brutal defeat for BC and there is a risk of third straight loss next week against Syracuse.

5. Pittsburgh Panthers (7-4)
Ladies and gentlemen, your champions of the Coastal Division. It was not nice in September, but Pitt is one of the country's most prominent teams.

6. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (7-4)
The Yellow Jackets are also very hot and everything that has been said about Paul Johnson's job security from September now seems to be a distant memory.

7. Virginia Cavaliers (7-4)
The Hoos pushed Georgia Tech to the brink, but a missed shot on the pitch proved his loss. Nevertheless, the season was solid for Virginia and the Bronco Mendenhall crew could win their biggest win next week against Virginia Tech. They have not beaten the Hokies since 2003.

8. Duke Blue Devils (7-4)
The Blue Devils pushed Clemson in the first half, but they simply ran out of gas. Losses in defense have been too difficult to overcome.

9. Hurricanes of Miami (6-5)
The Canes broke a four-game losing streak with a win over Virginia Tech. N & # 039; Kosi Perry has had a solid match, but the big question is whether he can continue to take advantage of it.

ten. Seminoles of the State of Florida (5-6)
The hopes of the bowl remain alive after Deondre Francois and Tamorrion Terry have performed a miracle with a 74-meter bomb with less than two minutes to play against BC.

11. Deacons of Wake Forest Demon (5-6)
Wake stood firm for a half but ran out of gas against Pitt. They will have to win the final against Duke to win an auction.

12. Virginia Tech Hokies (4-6)
Remember when the Hokies opened with a huge win at Florida State and clearly looked like favorites to win the Coastal? Yeah, we do not.

13. North Carolina Tar (2-8) Heels
Hey, a victory! Of course, it was against West Carolina, but beggars can not choose.

14. Cardinals of Louisville (2-9)
New coach, same terrible defense.
