Power 5 – Conference Power Ranking Week 8

2. Tigers of LSU (7-1)

5. Texas A & M Aggies (5-2)
The Aggies enjoyed a week of rest and got the upper hand on a Mississippi State team that took it on the chin. The Jimbo Fisher team seems to be well placed for running.

6. Kentucky Wildcats (6-1)
Give Benny Snell Jr. and Kentucky's defense credit by winning a Vanderbilt win, but Terry Wilson needs to improve at the quarterback position if the Wildcats hope to give Georgia a chance to play for SEC East.

7. Auburn Tigers (5-3)

4. Penn State Nittany Lions (5-2)

9. Indiana Hoosiers (4-4)
The Hoosiers' record does not really indicate how close some of their games have been this season, but they have not yet won.

10. Maryland Terrapins (4-3)
The Terps collided with a circular saw in Iowa and were limited to 115 yards. The calendar does not get any easier from here.

11. Nebraska Cornhuskers (1-6)
Scott Frost and the Huskers have won their first win and seem to be gaining ground every week. This team is going up.

12. Golden Gophers of Minnesota (3-4)
They struggle in the second half of the season. A 53-28 loss against Nebraska is a hard pill to swallow.

13. Fight against Illinois in Illinois
Fights are continuing for Illinois after being beaten by Wisconsin, which keeps Illini in a conference win.

14. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (1-7)
They had the advantage at Northwestern at halftime, but they could not win. Rutgers is still winless in the Big Ten game.

3. Big 12

It was a light Saturday in the Big 12.

If the struggles of the OSU continue against the Longhorns, will Sanders finally have a chance?

9. Baylor Bear (4-3)
The Bears are quietly one of the most advanced teams in college football this season. And reaching eligibility for the World Cup would be a great success for Matt Rhule, a sophomore coach.

10. Kansas Jayhawks (2-5)
Dismissal Coordinator Doug Meacham did little for the Kansas offensive in Lubbock. The first Jayhawks touchdown did not take place until the last part of the third quarter.

4. Pac-12
