A major storm, snow and ice that is spreading, will continue to threaten to disrupt travel and power outages in the northeast from Friday until Friday.
The worst conditions are expected in the interior of the center of the Atlantic coast, where there will be ice and generalized snow. The winter climate has already affected cities along the Interstate 95 corridor, such as Washington, D.C.
"There is 6 to 12 inches of snow potential from western Maryland in northwestern Maine, however, freezing rain and freezing rain can reduce accumulations," said Alex Sosnowski, Senior Meteorologist at AccuWeather.
"In some areas it's possible that 1 to 2 inches of slush will fall on the snow," he said.

Two people were killed on Wednesday night in Mississippi and 44 people were injured when a bus overturned on an icy Mississippi road, the Associated Press reported. The accident occurred on Interstate 269 at Byhalia, about 35 km southeast of Memphis.

Snow and ice pellets will continue to cross the northeast until Friday, which may disrupt the morning commute.
"Students should always do their homework, but many schools will likely be delayed or closed on Fridays," said Dave Dombek, Senior Meteorologist at AccuWeather.
Thursday night, power outages in the region exceeded 350,000 and could increase overnight.

Some people have been sitting in traffic for more than three hours around New York City due to snow-covered roads and widespread accidents. People from the area who do not need to travel should avoid traveling as long as the conditions will not be approved.
Students in the Elizabethtown area of Pennsylvania School District sent their students to school due to poor travel conditions.
"Due to the many closed roads, unsafe traffic conditions and freezing rain forecasts later in the day, Durham School Services, the district's contracted transportation provider, is unable to complete its bus trips in the area. More than 1,400 flights were canceled and another 8,000 were delayed across the United States due to snow and ice affecting the eastern United States. Some trips were extended in the afternoon, people slowly taking snowy roads.
Pennsylvania experienced the heaviest snow with totals approaching one foot in some areas.
Philadelphia International Airport reported 2.4 inches of snow on Thursday night, the highest snowfall in November since 1989.
15:55 EST Thursday:
Traffic stopped on George Washington Bridge in New York after an accident involving several vehicles.
Snow is expected to continue around New York City during Thursday night drives.
