Power Season 5 Episode 10 Review: When It's Over

[ad_1]

The battle lines were officially drawn. And they were drawn in the most permanent markers.

With the walls getting closer to everyone Power Season 5 Episode 10 was always going to be a bloody battle, but it seemed like the unlikely quartet of Ghost, Tommy, Angela and Tasha would finally find a way to be on the same footing page for once.

But that's the power. We should all know that it can never be so simple.

Take position - Power

I should have known that Angela would always be willing to cooperate. Like Ghost, she will not come down without a fight or attempt to execute a plan, even if it can be complicated or doomed to failure.

The plan to keep everyone who could turn on them and convince Dre to expose Alicia as the mastermind behind the Lobos and Sandoval murders was actually a decent plan. It was a way for many people to get what they wanted and stay safe.

Angela's career was going to be over, no matter what she had done at that time, but at least she could save her life and Ghost, Tommy and Tasha would also be aware of it.

And everything seemed to be going as planned until the wheels fell, the doubt took over and the fragile bonds of trust created began to break.

One of the most important things in this life is loyalty. Being a rat is worse than being a cheater. Or a drug dealer. Or a murderer. You live and you die by your word.

That's why Tommy killed his father. But remorse and indecision for Teresi's death were clearly at the center of Tommy's concerns. And all he needed was a little nudge to show him the machinations that led him to discover that Teresi was a rat.

Determined Tommy - Power Season 5 Episode 10

And he had a lot of pressure; 2-Bit, Keisha, Saxony and Vincent lead Tommy to the biggest rat of his life; Ghost.

We were on the road Ghost versus Tommy. Holly died because even when Tommy was completely finished with Ghost, he was not ready to pull the trigger all the way.

But it was then, and it is now. The brothers and partners of past seasons have long gone. Neither trust the other, for good reason and at this point, they do more harm to each other than the good ones.

Now, let's go to the stairwell because there is so much to unwrap on there, we think Ghost continues to lie to Angela, just who was aiming the gun.

If there is a way to break Ghost, to simply break his mind, then you do not kill him completely. You take things that matter to him.

Tommy: Do you understand why I did what I did?
Keisha: Yeah. And that's why we need to get away from Ghost and Tasha, Tommy. Ghost was supposed to be your family.
Tommy: He could have come to me if he knew Teresi. He did not say a fucking word. And then this morning when I told him I had done it … I have to go out.
Keisha: I know. Tommy? I'll be there when you come back.

Love it or hate it, Angela is an important part of Ghost, and if a person knows it better than anyone, it's Tommy. As soon as she came into her life, nothing has ever been the same for any of them.

Its elimination makes it possible to blame it without affecting everyone, but it also means that you have lost Ghost forever.

But was Tommy even trying to kill Angela? Tommy had the weapon against Ghost's back, and if Angela had not dismissed it, that bullet would surely hit Ghost. So, what was his plan?

Maybe his original goal was Ghost, but seeing the agony on Ghost's face, he realized that the best plan was to leave Ghost with the same harm for the rest of his days.

After the first season finale, I know better than to pronounce dead before the start of the new season, so there will be no eulogy for Angela here. However, a bullet in the center of the chest does not seem to be something she will come back to.

And that leaves us in limbo for the long off season. Whether Angela is alive or not, the scene is ready for war. Ghost versus Tommy part 70 is coming. Let's go.

A tense meeting - Power Season 5 Episode 10

Everything you need to know

  • There are so many things I want to say about Dre, but nothing good. How many shots and ambushes can a man survive before it becomes laughable? It was the season that the ultimate rat was facing and one of the biggest surprises of the season is the fact that he is still alive.

  • Keisha went from an undecided participant to a criminal activity to a complete alibi and a facilitator in an episode, huh? The blatant selfishness of Tasha pushed Keisha to Tommy. See how these two people will engage in a relationship next season will be very intriguing, if she had said the wrong thing, he was ready to shoot him.

  • Did anyone think that Ghost was going to kill Proctor for a second? Clearly, his loyalty is to Ghost, but he's always ready to throw Ghost's people on the bus a few seconds later.

  • There was no Tariq this week. It was a bonus.

  • So Ghost killed Terry. Or did he do it? It sounded more like Ghost who had suffocated him so that he did not meet the judge. I like this version better than one of the last things he has ever said to Angela is another lie.

Ready To Strike - Power Season 5 Episode 10

If Angela dies, two major characters will leave us this season and their absence will be very, very noticeable. If Angela does not play both sides, the governmental angle of the story loses much of its energy. And even if I hated Kanan, these last two episodes have significantly differentiated without his presence.

For a show with too many characters, I wonder if their decision to kill the shock hurt the show more than it helps. Only time will tell, and we know that the Power Season 6 is a success, so we'll have to wait until next summer to see how things are going.

In the meantime, let me know what you thought of "When This Is Over". Is Angela dead? What will Dre do next? What are you hoping to see next year?

Let me have a few comments so that we can talk about it. And look for my Power Season 5 newsletter in the coming weeks. And as always, watch Power Online so you do not miss a second of the action!
