The Philadelphia Parking Authority brings an advantage to drivers looking for a place to park their cars while shopping for the holidays.
From now until the New Year, parking meters and kiosks will be free throughout the city every Saturday after 11 am. In addition, drivers may pay a fee to park in certain garages between 11am and midnight.
"We want to encourage shoppers to come downtown and discover all the wonders and benefits of shopping vacations in the downtown area and in one of our vibrant shopping districts in the city," said the PPA Executive Director, Scott Petri. "Our goal is to generate more trade and make it as convenient as possible for buyers."
Drivers wishing to park in a garage can do so by asking the garage management office for a $ 8 validation ticket at the following locations:
- AutoPark at Independence Mall
- AutoPark in Olde City
- Parkade on the 8th
- AutoPark in Jefferson
- AutoPark at Gallery Mall
- Family court garage
Parking restrictions in residential areas will still apply.
