Prashant Kishore can join JD (U)

Elections strategist Prashant Kishore could join the JDU led by Bihar Prime Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna.

Mr. Prashant will be present at the Executive Committee of the Unit of the Mine Action and Defense Unit to be held at the headquarters of Bihar CM in Patna today.

After being contacted, National Unit spokesman KC Tyagi confirmed that Mr. Prashant would attend the Unit's Executive Committee meeting.

Meanwhile, Prashant dropped enough clues on the start of his new political round of Bihar. "Excited to start my new trip to Bihar," he tweeted.

Sources said Prashant Kishore could be tasked with negotiating with the BJP for a seat sharing agreement. "He can become number 2 in the JDU unit. He joins JDU at a time when NDA allies – BJP, JDU, LJP and RLSP – are fighting to finalize the seat-sharing agreement, "ETA source told JDU.

As an electoral strategist, Prashant played an important role in bringing RJD and JDU under the banner of Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) in the 2015 elections. Later, Nitish Kumar left the grand alliance and returned to the NDA camp.
