The comic is barely a "prequel" because it is centered on the background of the symbiote and Eddie interacts with it and removes some bad guys. This will be an interesting read for fans who know Venom especially from the animated series or Spider-Man 3as he goes in a "planet of Symbiots" -inspired take in the history of the costume.
