Donald Trump went on Twitter early Saturday morning to express his support for Nancy Pelosi, who will be Speaker of the House at the next convention. The tweet comes after Trump a little over a week ago that Pelosi "deserves to be elected Speaker of the House by the Democrats".
His support comes with an interesting twist. He said that if the Democrats gave him a hard time, he could help add Republican voices. This morning, he added that feeling when he wrote, "I can get Nancy Pelosi as many votes as she wants to be able to be Speaker of the House." She deserves this victory, she deserved it – but some members of her party are trying to kidnap it. She will win! He then labeled representative Tom Reed, one of the Republicans likely to vote for her.
It's no secret that Pelosi and Trump did not understand the situation, but his support is just as important for him, as it seemed to be more about his power than Pelosi.
Trump is also visiting California today. On Friday, Governor Jerry Brown tweeted that he and California's elected governor, Gavin Newsom, had met with Trump to discuss the fires that devastated the state. His visit to California comes after his criticism of the state's management of forest management – he continued Friday afternoon on Fox News.
