Columbus, Ohio. – It's a beautiful November morning at the Horseshoe, while Nebraska and the No. 8 Ohio State are gearing up for a send-off at 11 am.
The Buckeyes, of course, suffered their first defeat of the season two weeks ago at Purdue, although the final count of 49-20 defeated what was for the most part a much tighter game. They have been undefeated for a week past under the direction of Urban Meyer and will try to continue this momentum today.
The Huskers have won their first two games of the season in the last two weeks against Minnesota and FCS Bethune-Cookman.
Husker 's coach, Scott Frost, said this week that he had never been to the Ohio Stadium. The last time NU was here, a 62-3 shellack was unwrapped.
Some pre-game notes:
* From the travel list: Breon Dixon has finally arrived. He was not on the Nebraska Travel List, but the second-year linebacker is actually on the trip.
He warmed up with the outside linebacker group, as did the second year JoJo Domann. It is unclear who DIxon has replaced the travel team, although Star Journal has not seen his linebacker Guy Thomas on the field before the match.
This is Dixon's first time traveling with the Huskers this year and he has not played in a match yet. He could theoretically play in each of the last four NU contests and still in red shirt this fall. Watch his role today.
Defensive linemen Damian Jackson and Chris Walker are part of the trip, as is the defensive second-line lineman, Deontre Thomas. Thomas has played in four games and has a broken hand. The staff is trying to prevent him from playing the rest of the season to preserve his red shirt.
Other changes compared to the last time NU was on the road: Miles Jones offspring and defensive lineman Fyn Anderson are not part of the trip, as is second-year security Marquel Dismuke. Offensive lineman Will Farniok is part of the lineup for the second time this season.
* A Nebraska official prior to the announcement of the match announced that the Ohio State group was closing its half-time performance with a tribute to Tyler Butterfield, a member of the Nebraska group, killed last week in a car accident.
* The attacking half Maurice Washington is still in juice, but it is perhaps particularly this weekend.
