Prince Charles turns 70 on November 14

The Prince of Wales has taken his sons to pick up trash during their school holidays in Norfolk, revealed his eldest son, said the Duke of Cambridge.

"We were there with our spikes, stabbing garbage in black plastic bags," said Prince William.

"We both thought," It's normal, everyone has to do it, "he told the BBC.

William shared the anecdote of his childhood as part of a special 60-minute program celebrating his father's 70th birthday.

The BBC has had exclusive access to Prince Charles over the past 12 months to film Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at age 70.

In the documentary, William speaks alongside his brother, the Duke of Sussex, during the projection of a speech by Charles in 1970, warning against the dangers of plastic waste.

William and Harry congratulated their father the Prince of Wales in the documentary

"It's amazing, look like he's young," Prince Harry murmured.

Harry then congratulated his father for "doing incredible work" and guiding them "without telling us what we should do".

"I'd used to get the mickey out of school to pick up trash," he says, warming up to the topic of garbage collection.

"I did not go for it consciously, if you go for a walk somewhere and you see something coming out, you get it back.

"You realize that I literally did that because I'm programmed to do it because my dad did it and in fact we should all do it."

William stated that Charles "lived as he advocates," adding that he thought his father had "at heart" the criticism he had received for his ideas when he was younger.

On November 14, at the age of 70, the Prince of Wales will be involved in public affairs for 50 years and will defend environmental and social issues well before making himself known.

The film also features Charles' "7 to 70" initiative, which aims to preserve seven historic sites in the United Kingdom in honor of his birthday.

They include the restoration of Drapers 'Coventry Hall, a center celebrating Wales' heritage, and an agricultural complex near Ceredigion.

The Queen has already unveiled the first of the "7 for 70", the Duke of Rothesay's Highland Games Pavilion at Royal Deeside, Scotland, which will open to the public next year and present the history of the Highland Games.

Prince, Son And Heir: Charles At age 70, will be screened on BBC One on Thursday, November 8 at 9 pm.
