Prince George Shines in New Family Portraits Released for Charles's 70th Birthday

It's Prince Charles's 70th birthday, but we are the ones getting a gift, as the palace has released a new portrait of Charles, his wife Camilla and his two sons, and their families, timed to the Prince of Wales's birthday. Charles's birthday is a big day, and these surprisingly lively portraits ensure we'll all take notice.

The first portrait is a more standard, "official" portrait of the entire crew, though tiny Prince Louis funny face to all the same:

And there is a whole lot to revel in the second portrait, taken in the garden at Clarence House in September, the same day Prince Louis that appeared in the recent Charles documentary. (The photos were taken by Chris Jackson, who also traveled to Australia with Harry and Meghan.)

Prince George's gleeful expression-as the young royal sits perched on his grandfather's knee-arguably steals the show, but Louis-looking off in the distance-is also a standout. Camilla points something out to Charlotte, while Meghan-dressed in a black and white dress-laughs at something as well. (There is definitely a lot of merriment on display here, which is not always the case for royal portraits.)
