Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially ended their first international royal tour as a married couple.
After a 16-day trip that included stops in Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand, the two ended their visit with a nice photo taken by the Duke of Sussex himself for the Instagram account of Kensington Palace. . The picture shows the former actress of "Suits" holding her belly in a beautiful forest.
"Thanks to New Zealand for the most wonderful last week of our tour. It was a privilege to meet so many friendly Kiwis, "said the legend.
"Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand – we leave inspired and remember how each of us can make a difference."
Omid Scobie, journalist and commentator of royals, tweeted about the story behind the sweet moment.
"At the end of our last tour, Harry and Meghan were ahead of their team, the security and me (who was the pool reporter)," he wrote on Twitter Thursday.
"We were in the beautiful Whakarewarewa forest and they wanted a moment for themselves. This picture, taken by Harry, was the result of that moment … "
After the grueling tour, the royal couple will probably need some rest before getting ready for a vacation. According to recent reports, Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, has been invited by the queen to join the family for Christmas dinner.
"It's a mark of Queen's respect for Meghan and a recognition that she has no other relationships in this country – unlike Kate who has the support of a very close family," said a major royal source at the invitation, the Express reported Sunday.
We still do not know if Ragland, who lives in Los Angeles, will settle in London, because Harry and Meghan are expecting their first child in the spring of 2019.
After the announcement of the pregnancy, a spokesman for the palace said that Ragland "is very happy with this beautiful news and is looking forward to welcoming her first granddaughter."
