Yes, we are now moving towards the fifth consecutive week of prince Charles-focused happy, related to his 70th birthday. The prince's birthday took place last week – with a big party in his honor on Wednesday night and the release of new family photos. During the weekend, Clarence House released even more photos of Charles, taken by photographer Getty Images. Chris Jackson (who – makes royal fun! – is married to Kate Middleton stylist, Natasha Archer). Jackson has had a very unusual access to Charles over the last year and the pictures show quieter and more hidden moments, which is not usually seen much when it comes to the royal family. (This promotional effort seems to be somewhat designed to enhance Charles' public image, even before he finally takes the throne.)
Among the photos of him reading notes on a train, feeding chickens, strolling through his gardens, approaching his Aston Martin and crunching Judi Dench, there are more photos featuring six months Prince Louis, the youngest member of the royal family. Louis was featured in the two images released last week, but he must really shine in this new set. In one image, Charles is holding his grandson, while Louis smiles at something off the camera (we want to believe that he's looking at Uncle Harry, to make a kind of face). And then, in a third version of the group's family photos released last week, Louis (held by his mother, Kate) reaches out to Charles, grabbing him by the face. (As the adults look at Louis, George and Charlotte seem to look something to their left.)
After several months of low profile after his baptism, Louis is clearly ready to go under the spotlight, destined for glory, extremely comfortable in front of the camera. I hope that the Cambridges Royal Tour will be announced soon – or else, Louis will be able to give a series of concerts (he shivers in a park on stage under the public gaze) – to take advantage of this momentum.
