The baby's Royal Star has arrived, cradled in the arms of his mother, Duchess Kate of Cambridge.
The third royal heir to Cambridge, Prince Louis, was on Monday at the Royal Chapel of St. James's Palace in London while adoring members of his Windsor and Middleton families were looking at him, but not his nonagenarian great-grandparents
. the first glimpse of baby Prince – the sixth great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip – in public since its birth on April 23.
The date was special to the Queen: July 9, 1947, it was the day her engagement with Prince Philip, 97, was announced. The 92-year-old Queen spent a busy week in Scotland heading to London to face another busy week, including major ceremonies on Tuesday and a meeting with President Donald Trump on Friday. Prince Philip retired from public office and is more often seen in public.

The new fifth in line to the throne was christened an anglican with the full name of Louis Arthur Charles from Cambridge at a private ceremony in the same little chapel where his brother, Prince George of Cambridge, was baptized in October 2013.
As usual, it was an intimate affair . Present were the baby's parents, Prince William and Duchess Kate, and his grandfather, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and his wife, the Duchess Camilla of Cornwall.

Uncle Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan of Sussex, were present, along with his maternal grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton, his aunt Pippa Middleton Matthews and her husband James Matthews, and uncle James Middleton.
Pippa Middleton, who is expecting her first baby in the fall, was among the first guests to arrive at the chapel. She was followed by her parents and brother, as well as by some godparents and their spouses.
The most anticipated participants: Brother Prince George, third of the throne, who will be 5 years old July 22 and Charlotte, age 3, fourth of the line. It was the first look at the family of five Cambridge in public since the birth of the baby.
Charlotte was dressed in one of her blue and white robes, while George wore black shorts and a white shirt.
Duchess Kate was in a creamy Alexander McQueen dress with a V-neck, plus a Jane Taylor hat.
Prince Louis was dressed in the royal baptismal dress, a replica of the original 1841 retired 10 years ago.
Also on the guest list were the six godparents, announced by Kensington Palace on Monday morning. They included old school friends and Middleton's cousin.
The royal children generally have several sponsors: Prince Charles has eight, Prince William has six, and Prince George has seven.

After the ceremony of 40 minutes, the families went to Clarence House for a reception where the guests were to receive slices of the traditional delicacy called Kate's Wedding Cake 2011.
The service, led by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, featured all the usual signs of a Royal baptism, including silver baptism Police, water taken from the Jordan, the chanting of the Royal Chapel choir and the baby dressed in a handmade replica of the dress of royal baptism in Honiton lace edged with white satin.

This is the third time that Will and Kate meet up, but only the second time that they have chosen the Royal Chapel for the ceremony. Their second child, Princess Charlotte, was baptized at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the estate of Queen Sandringham in Norfolk.
Used by the royal family since the time of Queen Victoria, this little church was a sentimental choice because it was there that Princess Diana, the late mother of Prince William, was baptized in 1961 when his Spencer family lived in the Sandringham estate.
Royal babies close to the throne are generally baptized in London, but not always at St. James' Palace, the oldest royal palace (commissioned by Henry VIII in the 1530s) in Britain. Before George, the Royal Chapel of St. James was used for the baptism of Princess Beatrice, Princess Beatrice, in 1988. The Chapel is the place where Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in 1840. More recently, it was the ancient Meghan. Markle was baptized an Anglican in a ceremony conducted by Archbishop Welby shortly before his May 19 wedding to Prince Harry.

The baptismal robe also has a long history. The original was made in 1841 for the baptism of the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria, Princess Victoria, the Royal Princess, and was later worn for all the royal baptisms, including Queen Elizabeth, her children and most of his grandchildren.

But it was in such a fragile form that the Queen charged her seamstress, Angela Kelly, to make a replica . The young son of the Queen, James, Viscount Severn, son of Prince Edward, was the first member of the family to respond to his baptism in the private chapel of Windsor Castle in April 2008.
