Prince William would like his father, a workaholic, to spend more time with his grandchildren, revealed a documentary released on Prince Charles's 70th birthday.

The Prince of Wales has been described as a "brilliant" grandfather who spends hours crawling on the floor with them and reading them Harry Potter books while making the voice of the characters.

However, Charles can sometimes be concerned about his dedication and focus on the job. His sons suggest that he sometimes sleeps with documents stuck to his face.

Prince William said "when he is there he is brilliant" but "we need him as much as possible".

"I think he has time, but I would like him to have more time with the kids."

"Now that he's 70, it's the perfect time to consolidate a bit because, as most families would, you're afraid to have them around you and make sure their health is healthy – and he is the most fit man I know of but I want him too. to be fit until he is 95 years old.

Prince William added, "So having more time with him at home would be nice, and being able to play with the grandchildren."

The Duchess of Cornwall also paid tribute to Charles as grandfather, claiming that his five grandchildren adored him "absolutely".

The documentary presents a touching image of the prince rocking his grandson Louis, and in another, we see him swaying around a little girl that we think is one of the grandchildren from Camilla.

In the program, Charles's close family portrays the heir to the throne as a compassionate man who wants to help his entourage, but who is motivated to achieve those goals.

His son, the Duke of Sussex, said: "He needs to slow down, it's a man who dines ridiculously late into the night.

"And then, he goes to his office later in the night and will fall asleep on his notes until he wakes up with a piece of paper stuck to his face."

This image of a prince who works tirelessly is evident when his sons were boys, Harry adds, stating, "The man never stops.

"I mean when we were kids, there were bags and bags and work bags that the office had just sent her.

"We could hardly go to his office to say good night."

Prince, Son And Heir: Charles At 70 will be screened Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
