CVS Health Corp. (CVS) unveiled Wednesday a pilot program of rewards for members offering benefits such as discounts and free deliveries at home.

CarePass is being tested in the greater Boston area and CVS has announced that it will charge $ 5 a month, or $ 48 a year, for the program.

Members will receive a monthly reward of $ 10 which can be used for almost all in-store and online purchases. The reward expires at the end of the monthly benefit cycle, said Woonsocket, R.I.

The program also offers 24/7 access to the pharmacy, free one- or two-day delivery on select prescription drugs and "eligible purchases" on the CVS website with no minimums minimum, and a 20% discount on most branded products such items as alcohol, prescriptions and gift cards.

CVS currently has a free membership card called ExtraCare that offers discounts.

Shares of CVS closed unchanged on Wednesday at $ 72.39, but fell slightly after trading hours.

CVS is scheduled to release its third quarter financial results on Tuesday November 6th at 8:30 am Eastern Time.
