Passengers who have flown on Southwest or American Airlines domestic flights between 2011 and 2018 may be able to obtain money through an out of court settlement. According to the complaint, some airlines have agreed to limit the capacity of domestic flights, which has caused travelers to pay artificially inflated prices.
According to the Snopes fact-finding website, some customers have received a message stating that people likely to have purchased a domestic plane ticket from Delta Air Lines, US Airways or Continental Airlines from the United States United, Southwest, United States, between July 1, 2011 and June 14, 2018 may be eligible for settlement money.

Southwest Airlines agreed to pay a settlement of $ 15 million in January. American Airlines has agreed to pay $ 45 million in June, but denies participating in collusion.

According to a website set up to allow customers to obtain information on the settlement of the dispute, two of the airlines did not reach a settlement.
The website warns that even if some settlements have been made, those who may be able to make claims may not receive money. It is unclear how much an eligible applicant will get.
"No money is being distributed at the moment. Plaintiffs' lawyers will continue to pursue the lawsuits against the unpaid defendants, "said the website.
