A second protest in as many days met with Governor Rick Scott during a campaign stop in Orlando on Tuesday afternoon.
More than a dozen people have held placards on the Florida environment, some calling Scott "Red Tide Rick".
"Our marine life is dying and hurting our economy," said Amanda Lent, who was among the crowd.
While the protesters were standing by the Goldenrod Road, some of Scott's supporters were standing in front of him to block the line of sight between the crowd and his tour bus.
Inside Tile de Rigo, Scott spoke to a crowd of a few dozen people who support his Senate candidacy.
"I'm going to represent you, I'm going to work my tail," Scott said.
From the event outside and his record on the environment, Scott said: "We are doing everything we can", and questioned the record of his opponent.
"The federal government needs to be a better partner, I'm frustrated that Bill Nelson has not done anything." He posts ads saying that he cares about the environment, but he does not nothing done, nothing, "said Scott.
Also in the Senate on Tuesday, Senator Bill Nelson called for a vote on the Water Resources Development Act.
"So, we can work on the reservoir south of Lake Okeechobee, the reservoir is important and it is timely because of this problem of algae in Florida," said Nelson.
Scott's visit to Orlando was his last stop during his bus tour throughout the state.
On Wednesday, Nelson will visit DeLand. He will present special honors to two local heroes at a medal ceremony.
