TALLAHASSEE, Fla (WCTV) – The Leon County Sheriff's Office said Justin Shields, 19, was found safe and sound.
The LCSO located his vehicle on Old Magnolia Road on Friday and searched the area for days. The sheriff's office was attended by several other officials from the police department of the former USSR, Leon County and around one hundred students, staff members and local residents. .
Around 4:00 pm Sunday, a team followed a smell collected by search dogs in a wooded area about a kilometer northwest of Shield's car. When the dogs entered the area, Shields was found and began calling the authorities.
Officials say Shields was dehydrated and had cuts and bruises, but was in good health. He has since been transported to a local hospital.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla (WCTV) – On Saturday, most of the afternoon, there was little activity along Old Magnolia Road, where the police discovered a vehicle it thought he was driving.
Shields' family members met at the Leon County Sheriff's Office Command Center, just off the road, as the search for the 19-year-old continued.
An LCSO helicopter could be seen hovering over the area. Patrol, K-9 and diving teams were also used.
Shields, a student at Florida State University, has not been seen by his friends or family since Wednesday.
Officials say one person described seeing someone early on Friday morning matching Shields' description around the area where his vehicle was discovered. The investigators still do not know why he would be in the area in the first place.
"I think these are the questions that we are trying to understand, why is he here, why was the car here?" At this point, there is no criminal act that is suspected, but it does not exist. is not familiar with him having been here. "said David Teems Deputy.
Teems said he was unaware of any medical conditions or physical disabilities that could pose a danger to Shields at this time.
Shields is described as a white man between 5 "8" and 5 "9" tall.
LSCO urges anyone who has been in contact with Shields in the past few days to contact them.
