PHILADELPHIA – Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz may not return until October, according to a report released Thursday night by the NFL network.
Wentz is recovering from two torn knee ligaments sustained last December against the Los Angeles Rams. He has not received a medical certificate for contact, but he has participated in 11-to-11 exercises since August 19th.
The NFL Network report said it could be "several weeks", adding that the Eagles intended to be "too cautious with the face of their franchise" and that they " would not put it out until it reached 100% ".
Nick Foles, who took over from Wentz and led the Eagles to the Super Bowl last season, started Thursday night against the Falcons and will continue to do so until Wentz returns.

Yet Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said Tuesday that Wentz was "close," before adding, "I'm not a doctor, not an expert. 39 medical team, a few days we will see. "
