Qualcomm (QCOM) states that Apple (AAPL) stole its chip secrets and delivered them to Intel

Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) has raised the bar in its lawsuit against Apple Inc. (AAPL).

The company now accuses Apple of stealing confidential information and trade secrets to help Qualcomm, its rival Intel Corp. (INTC), to file a case Tuesday in California Superior Court.

Qualcomm hopes the court will add the new allegations to its ongoing lawsuit against Apple for alleged breach of the software master agreement signed by the two companies in 2010.

"Apple has begun a campaign of false promise, stealth and subterfuge that aims to steal Qualcomm's confidential information and trade secrets in an effort to improve performance and accelerate the release of quality modem chips lower, including those developed by Intel, "said Qualcomm in its court record." Apple used this stolen technology to transfer Qualcomm's Apple-based business to Intel. "

In November, Qualcomm accused Apple of violating the deal because it did not allow Qualcomm to periodically make sure that the source code software it shared with Apple was properly protected.

Qualcomm and Apple are currently involved in more than 70 lawsuits and counter-suits globally. The break between the old partners began when Apple accused Qualcomm of illegally using its dominant position in the global chip market to charge exorbitant license fees.

As a result of the dispute, Apple is now using Intel chips and modems to connect its new iPhones to cellular networks. Qualcomm now accuses Apple of using Qualcomm's expertise to refine Intel's hardware to help its chips' performance.

This is not the first time Qualcomm has made these allegations against Apple. The US International Trade Commission rejected these claims last week after Qualcomm raised them.

Qualcomm shares fell 0.8% on Tuesday morning, while Apple shares fell 0.3% and Intel 2%.
