Quick reaction: Frost says the Huskers are "ready"; Stoltenberg and Ferguson "close" to the return of a wound | Soccer

Nebraska players are eager to return to the field after last week's breakout at Northwestern, Husker head coach Scott Frost said on Thursday.

It was another good week of practice, said Frost, a trend that began after the Purdue match.

"I've said it before, but after the Purdue match, the crop started to point in the right direction," said Frost. "Guys are having fun playing football."

This helped the Huskers prepare to face Minnesota as a home favorite although they are still looking for their first win.

"The guys are ready to play, my God, they were so close (against Northwestern)," said Frost. "They want to go out and do a little more, we were ahead for 55 minutes, but we did not play a 55-minute game, we had too many lulls in attack."

On the injury front, senior defensive tackle Mick Stoltenberg beat reporters in jersey and helmet as he continued to recover from a knee injury.

"Mick wants to be back and I think he's getting closer," said Frost. "He wants to finish this thing in the right way."

Frost added that Tyrin Ferguson was about to return as well.
