UFC fighter Rachael Ostovich was recently hospitalized after being attacked during a domestic violence incident in Honolulu, Hawaii. TMZ indicated that the person who allegedly attacked Ostovich was someone "close to her". TMZ later confirmed with the Honolulu Police Department that an investigation into domestic violence had been opened, but none of the arrests were made.
ESPN confirmed with Ostovich's director, Brian Butler-Au, that Ostovich had an orbital bone fracture during the attack and was taken to hospital for treatment. She has since been released. No other details of the attack have been provided.
Ostovich, a 27-year-old flyweight, competed in "The Ultimate Fighter 26" in 2017 and was brought back to this season's live final despite losing earlier in the competition. She also fought in the final of "The Ultimate Fighter 27" in July, suffering a loss of submission. Ostovich is 4-4 in MMA and 1-1 in UFC.
Ostovich was to face Paige VanZant on Jan. 19 for the UFC ESPN + debut. But with the injury of Ostovich, this fight is now in question.
