The husband of Rachael Ostovich, a UFC fighter, was arrested on suspicion of attempted second degree murder within 72 hours of his hospitalization for fracturing an orbital bone, among other injuries.

Honolulu Police Department spokeswoman, Sarah Yoro, confirmed on Wednesday at TODAY Sports USA that Arnold Berdon, an MMA fighter, was arrested. However, he had not yet been formally charged on Wednesday and remained in custody.

The arrest of Berdon comes several days after what the management company of Ostovich, SuckerPunch Entertainment, has described in a statement as "a very unfortunate incident". Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported that Ostovich had been hospitalized as a result of an argument and an assault early Sunday morning.

The injuries that Ostovich suffered forced her to withdraw from an imminent fight against Paige VanZant, which was to take place on January 19th.

The Hawaii court records also show that she has since received a temporary ban order against Berdon.

"Rachael is now home after she gets out of the hospital with her family and she will be going back for further exams of her orbital," SuckerPunch Entertainment said in a statement on Tuesday. "The family would like to ask for a bit of privacy while it is sorting out this case. We thank the UFC for its support, as well as the fans and the media for your concern."

Ostovich has not yet touched directly on Sunday morning's assault nor Berdon's arrest, but she posted an encrypted message on Instagram early Wednesday.

"Spend time praying for people instead of talking to them," she wrote.
