The performance of Rami Malek as a late Freddie Mercury Bohemian Rhapsody received the approval of legendary guitarist Queen Brian May.
In an interview with the Press Association, May congratulated the Mr. Robot transforming the star into a fiery frontman, stating "he will undoubtedly be on Oscar nominations, and well deserved too".

"He's amazing," said May, 71. "He lived Freddie to the point where we even started to think of him as Freddie. Really remarkable.

May has been a musical and creative consultant on Bohemian Rhapsody, which tells Queen's story to fame – good and bad times.

Malek had previously told PEOPLE that he had no hesitation in being offered the role of Mercury.
