Rand Paul asked for a review of the Broadcom-CA merger

At a Wednesday Senate hearing on homeland security, Republican Senator Rand Paul called for a national security review of the $ 19 billion merger between Broadcom and CA.

In March, President Trump had already prevented Broadcom from acquiring Qualcomm for national security reasons, including Broadcom's dealings with Chinese manufacturers. Paul now cites concerns that 60% of the country's electricity companies are served by companies using Computer Associates Technologies (CA) systems.

Although Broadcom has moved from Singapore to the United States, Paul believes that the US Foreign Investment Committee should review the acquisition.
