Ranking of college football in the state of Washington in the top 10

[ad_1]

What happened to the ideas of November?

This is usually the time of year when strange things start to happen in the world of college football. You know, upheavals appear from nowhere and games that were not supposed to be games keep us all on the edge of our places.

But if you entered the 11th week in search of chaos, you were seriously disappointed. The top 11 ESPN Power teams last week all won, and eight of those teams won by at least 20 points.

Of course, we can always count on the Big 12, and especially on Bedlam. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State played another crazy game, which surprised no one, the Sooners having won 48-47 in an offensive match of 1,342 yards.

As Carl Spackler once said in "Caddyshack", at least we have what we need for us.

Washington State, which hit the road and hit Colorado, enters the top 10 this week. Mike Leach's pumas are the Pac-12's only hope of qualifying for the college football playoffs. They will have Arizona at home next week and Washington in the Apple Cup on Friday after Thanksgiving. The Cougars and Huskies are the only two teams in the Pac-12 to have lost less than three times in a conference.

1. Alabama (10-0, 7-0 SEC)

Result of the week 11: Mississippi State win 24-0
And after: against the citadel (Saturday, noon ET, to be determined)

To change, Alabama did not seem unbeatable in attack and had even had a few moments when he seemed deadly against a talented defensive front of the Mississippi State. Even more worrying for Crimson Tide, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa shot a bad shot in the right knee, already depressing, and Mac Jones finished the game in the quarter. But although it was not perfect on the offensive, this Alabama defense will improve more and more cruelly with consecutive SEC games for the first time since 1980.

2. Clemson (10-0, 7-0 ACC)

Result of the week 11: defeated Boston College 27-7
And after: Duke (Saturday, to be determined)

Yes, it was cold and Boston College dragged on a good while, but that was another major victory of ACC for Clemson. For the fifth time in a row, the Tigers won in a match that was never really in doubt at half-time. And after four wins where the closest game was a 34-point gap, this one by comparison was a bit of a nail, only 20 points. The Tigers defense plays its best football of the season. Clemson has played five straight games without losing more than 16 points.

3. Our Lady (10-0)

Result of the week 11: defeated Florida State 42-13
And after: vs Syracuse (Saturday, 2.30 pm, NBC)

No Ian Book, no problem. Playing without his starting quarter, Notre Dame has managed to impose. And even if it was just your father's state of Florida, the Irish continue to prove each week that they are making a complete football team. They have won two victories after winning a spot in the college football game, but a huge test is expected next week against Syracuse at Yankee Stadium.

4. Michigan (9-1, 7-0 Big Ten)

Result of the week 11: defeated Rutgers 42-7
And after: against Indiana (Saturday, to be determined)

In this offensive and more offensive period in college football, watching Michigan play every week reminds that defense always counts. Michigan overtook Rutgers on the road for the ninth consecutive victory of the Wolverines. Michigan has not lost more than 21 points in this winning streak and has limited its last four opponents to a total of 34 points. That's in Indiana next week at home and then play.

5. Georgia (9-1, 7-1 SEC)

Result of the week 11: defeated Auburn 27-10
And after: vs UMass (Saturday, 4 pm ET, SEC network)

The countdown to the return match between Alabama and Georgia had already begun, as both teams clinched their place in the SEC championship game last week. But the Dawgs were strong on Saturday night against their oldest rival, racking up more than 300 yards for the second week in a row and beating Auburn physically. This was Georgia's third consecutive victory, all won by teams from the latest College Football Playoff rankings.

6. Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1 Big 12)

Result of the week 11: defeated Oklahoma State 48-47
And after: vs Kansas (Saturday, to be determined)

The Sooners may not be the best college football team, but they are at the top of the list when it comes to being the most entertaining. Kyler Murray is spectacular and Oklahoma has scored at least 45 points in his last six games. But the Sooners were unable to stop anyone in defense, although they got a crucial 2-point conversion stop at the end to hold the Cowboys and win Bedlam. It's clear that Oklahoma can score with anyone and that the showdown with West Virginia on Friday after Thanksgiving may bypass the scorecard. But the Sooners defense …

7. LSU (8-2, 5-2 SEC)

Result of the week 11: defeated Arkansas 24-17
And after: Rice (Saturday, 7:30 pm, ESPNU)

The hangover of Alabama is real, at least for most teams. But LSU rebounded with a road victory over Arkansas, which was only the third real game of the Tigers' season. They lost their last match in Florida, but built a big lead over Arkansas and then held on. The hope of a SEC championship was lost last week, but the Tigers could still win 10 games and potentially have a chance to play in a game of New Year's balls Six.

8. West Virginia (8-1, 6-1 Big 12)

Result of the week 11: defeated TCU 47-10
And after: at Oklahoma State (Saturday, to be determined)

After sinking 3-0, West Virginia and Will Grier dominated the TCU 47-7 in the last three quarters. Grier had 343 yards and three touchdowns, and the Mountaineers scored 147 points in their last three games. Their only setback this season was a 30-14 loss to the state of Iowa three weeks ago. West Virginia is probably still outside when it comes to the college football game, but the landscape could change over the next two weeks with the Oklahoma swing. Mountaineers will travel to Oklahoma State next week before facing Oklahoma at home the Friday after Thanksgiving.

9. State of Ohio (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten)

Result of the week 11: defeated Michigan State 26-6
And after: Maryland (Saturday, to be determined)

Ohio State is not going to earn style points with the way it has played in recent weeks, and it's hard to pretend that the Buckeyes look like a playoff team for college football. Still, the Buckeyes have at least stayed in the playoff picture by winning at Michigan State. The Ohio State quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, has not been able to regain his early season form, but the Buckeyes still find a way to win and have can be signed their best defensive performance of the season.

10. Washington State (9-1, 6-1 Pac-12)

Result of the week 11: defeated Colorado 31-7
And after: Arizona (Saturday, to be determined)

The Pac-12 will need help to join the evening of the college football playoffs this season, but if anyone wants to do it, that's the state of Washington. The convincing victory of the Cougars on the road against Colorado was their fifth straight and their last two games are at home – against Arizona and Washington. Mike Leach and Gardner Minshew was quite the combination for the Cougars, who have won 22 of their last 29 games against their Pac-12 opponents.

11. UCF (9-0, 6-0 American)

Result of the week 11: defeated the Navy 35-24
And after: vs Cincinnati (Saturday, to be determined)

No one in the UCF camp is thrilled with the lack of love that the College Football Playoff Selection Committee has shown to the Knights, and that will probably not change when the new rankings are released. The UCF won its 22nd consecutive game and has not lost since December 17, 2016, but the Knights let the Navy drag on until the fourth quarter, the same Navy team that had been defeated 42-0 by Cincinnati last week.

12. Texas (7-3, 5-2 Big 12)

Result of the week 11: defeated Texas Tech 41-34
And after: vs. Iowa State (Saturday, 8 pm, Longhorn Network)

Undoubtedly one of the country's most unpredictable teams this season, the Longhorns have rallied after two consecutive losses and have largely doubled their lead over Texas Tech. It is a Texas team that beat Oklahoma and USC and lost one point against West Virginia, but also a team that lost against Maryland during the opening match. The Longhorns have clearly improved over the past year. They return home to face Iowa State in a game that will greatly help shape their season.

13. Syracuse (8-2, 5-2 ACC)

Result of the week 11: defeated Louisville 54-23
And after: vs Notre Dame (Saturday, 2.30 pm, NBC)

Please, no more basketball referrals. This Syracuse football team demonstrates a little more each week than it is for real. The Orange won their fourth straight game on Friday night, scoring 40 points or more in four wins. In fact, they have scored at least 40 points in seven of their eight wins this season, and their only two losses are against Pittsburgh in overtime and against Clemson, No. 2, in a match that Orange led to the end . Dino Babers has this program running, and the match against Cercule next week at Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium will be the biggest in years for Cuse.

14. State of Iowa (6-3, 5-2 Big 12)

Result of the week 11: beat Baylor 28-14
And after: in Texas (Saturday, 8 pm, Longhorn network)

The more the Cyclones continue to win, the more everyone in Ames has the trouble of losing his head coach. Matt Campbell has also been good and will no doubt be a flagship product in the offseason. He did an amazing job driving the Iowa State to his fifth consecutive victory, the longest winning streak of the Cyclones since the formation of the Big 12.

15. Florida (7-3, 5-3 SEC)

Result of the week 11: defeated South Carolina 35-31
And after: vs Idaho (Saturday, noon, to be determined)

For most of Saturday, Florida seemed to be heading for a third straight defeat, and coach Dan Mullen seemed to be heading further into the niche with Florida fans after calling them the last week. But the Gators have collected 17 points in the second half with quarterback Feleipe Franks who shook the crowd to score the winning touchdown. The Gators have been blowing hot and cold this season, but still have a chance to win 10 games for the second time only in the last six seasons.

16. Northwestern (6-4, 6-1 Big Ten)

Result of the week 11: defeated Iowa 14-10
And after: in Minnesota (Saturday, to be determined)

We know who will be one of the participants in the Big Ten Championship, and it's a North West team that won the Big Ten West title on Saturday with a tough road win in Iowa. The Wildcats were decisive against Purdue and Wisconsin and were very keen on recovering from their loss to Notre Dame. It was the fifth consecutive win of the Bigcats in the Big Ten, and they have not lost more than 17 points in their last three games in the Big Ten.

17. Kentucky (7-3, 5-3 SEC)

Result of the week 11: lost by Tennessee 24-7
And after: Middle Tennessee (Saturday, 12h Paris time)

A season so full of promise for Kentucky suddenly hit November's blah. The Wildcats have lost for the second week in a row, and this is a game that will take a while. Kentucky was attempting to win for the first time at Neyland Stadium since 1984 but was dominated by the line of scrimmage by the Vols. The Wildcats only managed 68 yards in the first half, falling 24-0 and missed any chance they could have for a New Year's game of bowling with an unbalanced defeat against their rival.

18. State of Mississippi (6-4, 3-4 SEC)

Result of the week 11: lost against Alabama 24-0
And after: Arkansas (Saturday, 12 noon, Paris time)

The truth is that the Mississippi State defense just did not get a lot of help this season. The Bulldogs lost four games in the SEC and scored no more than seven points in any of those four losses. The state of Mississippi had awarded nine touchdowns at the best of FBS points and three in favor of Alabama, but one of these was put together by a deflated punt at the same time. Alabama 27.

19. Michigan State (6-4, 4-3 Big Ten)

Result of the week 11: lost against Ohio State 26-6
And after: Nebraska (Saturday, to be determined)

It was a tough season for Michigan State, which faced Ohio State but could not overcome a terrible second half field position. The Spartans have been strong against the race all season. But in their last two defeats against Ohio State and Michigan, they scored a total of 13 points. This will not happen even when you play well in defense.

20. Penn State (7-3, 4-3 Big Ten)

Result of the week 11: defeated Wisconsin 22-10
And after: at Rutgers (Saturday, to be determined)

The Nittany Lions were not offended much, but they forced four turnovers to defeat Wisconsin at home and left control of Michigan last week in the rearview mirror. Trace McSorley, struggling with a sore knee, won his 29th game as a starting quarterback at Penn State to tie Todd Blackledge to the top-seeded quarterback of the Nittany Lions. Although Penn State is out of the Big Ten race, the Nittany Lions could still win 10 wins, which would be their third consecutive season of 10 or more wins. The last time this happened was 1980-1982.

21. Washington (7-3, 5-2 Pac-12)

Result of the week 11: date of opening
And after: vs Oregon State (Saturday, to be determined)

The Huskies are still alive in the Pac-12 North race and can win a spot in the Pac-12 championship game with a win over the Oregon State and Washington State over the next two weeks. The opening date probably came at a convenient time for Washington and quarterback Jake Browning, who rebounded after being modeled against Cal to help Washington beat Stanford two weeks ago. Myles Gaskin running back should also be in better health. He had missed two games due to a shoulder injury before rushing for a record 148 yards in a season against the cardinal.

22. State of Utah (9-1, 6-0 MWC)

Result of the week 11: defeated in San Jose 62-24
And after: at Colorado State (Saturday, 2 pm, Paris time)

Utah State is one of the country's most prominent teams with a ninth consecutive win after losing 38-31 to Michigan State in the inaugural game of the season. The Aggies scored 179 points in their last three games. It appears that the title of the MWC Mountain Division will return to the Boise State trip in two weeks.

23. Boise State (8-2, 5-1 MWC)

Result of the week 11: defeated at Fresno 24-17
And after: in New Mexico (Friday, 9 pm ET, CBSSN)

Boise State, which had already beaten its 17-10 deficit in the third quarter, won its first match against a nationally ranked opponent for the first time in its history. More importantly, the Broncos have extended their winning streak to five consecutive games. They remain in great shape in the MWC's Mountain Division race and face a showdown with Utah State in two weeks at home.

24. Cincinnati (9-1, American 5-1)

Result of the week 11: defeated South Florida 35-23
And after: at the UCF (Saturday, to be determined)

If that were not the case, Cincinnati would have had to get the kind of love of the Group of Five that the UCF is in right now, although the Knights say they would not get any love. Whatever the case may be, Cincinnati remained in the running at the American Athletics Conference with a win over South Florida on Saturday and will get its shot at UCF next week on the road.

25. UAB (9-1, 7-0 C-USA)

Result of the week 11: defeated Southern Miss 26-23 in overtime
And after: vs Texas A & M (Saturday, 7 pm ET, to be confirmed)

Bill Clark and the Blazers are one of the most fascinating stories of college football. After a program that was disbanded a few years ago, the UAB now has eight sets of wins (the nine wins of the season are the longest in the school's history) and carries a potential title to the American Conference. In other words, there is not just one team in the state of Alabama this season with championship aspirations.
