Ranking of the Ohio Order: Ohio State shines on the hard day of Big Ten

[ad_1]

It was not bad news for the Big Ten Saturday.

One day when the ten largest members of Maryland, Nebraska, Northwest and Wisconsin lost to the double-digit underdogs at home – and Rutgers lost 41, the Ohio State saved what was left of the reputation of the league.

The Buckeyes, who played without coach Urban Meyer for the third consecutive game (his suspension ended after Saturday's game), went behind them to stun the TCU 40-28 on the road in Arlington, Texas. The triumph of victory on the non-conference road could mean a lot in November, when the College Football Playoff Selection Committee selects the teams for the four coveted spots.

The Buckeyes were not the only Big Ten team to have played well on this very bad day for the league. Penn State beat Kent State 63-10 and Michigan with SMU 45-20, while both teams appear to have returned to the good season.

As a result, the Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan were among the big drivers of this week's Power Classing standings.
